DESCRIPTION

This greatcoat based on the 1940s RAF coat from WWII.

It is a coat worn by members of the British Royal Air Force in conditions where their ordinary uniforms do not provide sufficient warmth. Before synthetic fibers, thick wool was the most common material used to make coats. The coats were heavy and tight, but not particularly windproof, so they were better suited for officers who were not on the front line. Although thick wool is somewhat waterproof, it can add further weight to coats in bad, rainy weather and take a long time to dry out. Not being sufficiently waterproof and windproof, it was not a more practical option for officers and soldiers, so since the 1960s, the coat has been regarded as ceremonial.

The coat based on an RAF coat from the 1940s during the WWII, has been tailored to fit better than the original but retains classic details.
