This is a replication of a 1950s USN N-1 undershirt. Originally used for training wear within the US Navy in the 1950s, the thick bib-like patch over the chest and back constructed with 4 needle stitching is to improve the durability of the garment. It was made of a heavy-duty fabric blended with wool and cotton. Its advantage is that it is very warm, but the disadvantage is obvious, it is terrible to wear skin feeling.
Our version is tailored to the original version, and it is made of heavy-duty 13.5 oz cotton fabric that is close to the first edition thickness and texture, restoring the style of the original version, while heavyweight and has a comfortable skin feeling, really integrated into life.
In order to best determine fit, it may be helpful to compare our garment’s measurements to a similar garment you already own. Lay your garment on a flat surface and take all measurements from the outside of the garment.
