The waxed jacket is a classic outer garment—often seen in parka or jacket styles—made from tightly woven canvas and treated with wax on the outer face to make it water-resistant and windproof. It's long favored for outdoor work scenarios and casual outings.
Its origins trace back to the 15th century, when sailors used oil and grease to waterproof their sailcloth. That practical idea evolved over centuries into the iconic waxed outerwear we know today.
We currently offer two versions of waxed jackets:
Non Stock's version features a longer body length and a body lining (upper half) made from a blended wool blanket (50% wool, 50% polyester), offering better warmth and insulation.
Qingtian's jacket is based on another timeless design and comes with a corduroy-trimmed collar detail. The clean double welt pockets keep the look versatile and easy to style.
The waxed jacket pairs perfectly with raw denim jeans. Both share a rugged aesthetic and develop a unique character over time through daily wear—aging beautifully into a look that’s truly your own.
One thing to keep in mind: Waxed jackets can feel quite stiff at first, especially when new. But with regular wear, they’ll gradually soften and mold to your shape, becoming more comfortable and broken-in.
Why has it remained popular all these years?
Because it balances function and personality: It protects you against the elements while aging gracefully, telling your story as you wear it. From urban commutes to weekend adventures, it’s a piece you’ll keep reaching for year after year.
