The M-65 field jacket evolved from the M-1943 Field Coat through the M-1951 model and was in service from 1965 until 2009. The official color is "Olive Green 107." Significant changes from the M-1951 model include a storable hood, snap closures on the four main pockets, and Velcro cuffs. The collar transitioned from a shirt-style collar to an upright collar. The first type of M-65 did not feature epaulets, but subsequent models, like this one, include them.
