The B-15 series was developed as an alternative to the B-10 for mid-temperature flight suits. A modified version, the B-15A, was introduced on November 4, 1944. This version featured a distinctive addition of a leather triangle on one or both sides of the chest for securing oxygen tubes, and two hooks near the armpits for securing communication wires. These features were carried forward into subsequent models, including the B-15B, B-15C, B-15D, and the initial MA-1 flight jacket.

The B-15A stands out in the series with its unique chest leather triangles. Initially made from cotton, later models transitioned to nylon fabric. The B-15 series is characterized by a larger collar compared to the B-10, which can be worn up for added warmth. Another unique feature of the B-15 and B-15A is the zipper positioned slightly to the right of the centerline.
