Herringbone Tweed Vest

This vest is modeled on British and American clothing from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.

The cutting process and layout are improved to better fit the human body shape.

The vest originated in 16th-century Europe. At that time, the vest was open on both sides of the hem, without collars and sleeves, and was about knee length.

Until the end of the 18th century, the vest began a major evolution, shortening the body and matching suits. At that time, the vests were mostly single-row buttons, and a few were double-row buttons or with collars. Its characteristic is that the back waist is equipped with straps and adjusting buckles (Paris buckles) to adjust the elasticity. More importantly, the front and back fabrics are made of different materials: the front garments are cut with the same fabric as the suit, and the rear garments are cut with the same lining as the suit.

From the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, King Edward VII of the United Kingdom established a formal dress code for Western men. The three-piece suit was established, and the suit vest became one of the more common and more formal equipment in the daily life of gentlemen.
